Name/Work Name: Moge-ko/"Ko"
Canon: Mogeko Castle
Canon Point: Technically Normal Ending, only remembers bits and pieces up to the point where she unleashes the grotesque monster
AU/CRAU: Y. Both AU and CRAU.
Age: 16
History:
There exists Mogeko Castle, a surreal place of strange dimensions created by mogeko (lower case intentional). He created its inhabitants, Mogekos, after his own image, so they're all violent, perverted, moronic little yellow cat beings. Some of those Mogekos made an attempt at creating a cute girl out of candy, tabasco, and everything neat. But, being morons, they switched concrete for candy. The result was a cute psychopath.
Not much is known about the period between her creation and her takeover of the fourth floor of the castle. She barged in while the previous leader of the floor, Hasu, was giving a sermon about Lord Prosciutto, the god of the Mogekos. She slew everyone listening and then captured Hasu and subjected him to crucifixion and slow torture.
A regime of terror followed, in which she ruled over the fourth floor and it became known as the floor of the Dictator. She forced her Mogeko subjects to do her bidding and do things like adulate her, build a two-floor elevator, jump up and down in place, and more. Anyone who ticked her off, she crucified on crosses of blood, killed, and ate. Her rule was so horrible that the usually idiotically merry Mogekos were reduced to existential despair, wondering if life was even worth living.
This continued until she noticed the arrival on her floor of a high school girl named Yonaka along with Defect Mogeko who was helping Yonaka. She met Yonaka and asked her if she loved her. When Yonaka replied in the negative, Moge-ko flipped out and went on a long rant about how she'd 'play with' and kill Yonaka, then began to chase her and Defect Mogeko.
The pursuit continued as the pair successfully escaped from her floor. Moge-ko mustered her hordes to herd them toward where a gruesome monster consisting of a horrifying amalgam of Mogekos was caged. She unleashed the monster, and Defect Mogeko fired a rocket launcher at her and the monster, but it was stopped by her suddenly appearing force field shield. She and the monster pursued the pair.
However, Moge-ko lost them. Yonaka managed to ascend to the top floor and escape, while Defect Mogeko sacrificed his life to help her escape. And Moge-ko was left in a rage, as seen by her later demanding that mogeko bring Yonaka so that she can play with her while mogeko tried to explain Yonaka wasn't here.
And then Yonaka returned. But she was out of it due to having killed her brother in self-defense. She ignored Moge-ko then simply smacked her out of the way with a strength born from madness and then ripped off mogeko's scalp. It was then that she lost herself and become Lord Prosciutto. And that was the Normal Ending.
Personality:
Canon personality:
The most evident thing about Moge-ko was her unstable personality. She could switch between cute and murderous demeanor in an instant, and often combined the two, as seen in her rant at Yonaka.
She had a cutesy side, the process to create her at least got that much right. She often referred to herself in the third person, spoke in singasong, introduced herself as liking marshmallows and things like that, and had an excessively pink room.
However, her idea of playing was rather unpleasant for her 'toys'. She had a sadistic side, taking delight in the suffering of others. But her profile stated she hated it when she got hurt herself. This kind of self-centeredness was typical for her--she didn't really care about others' feelings.
She had a desire for adulation as seen in her asking Yonaka if she loved her. When denied this adulation, she went into a rage. She also said that she loves people who love her, and if they don't love her, they die.
Speaking of rage, she tended to throw rather frightening fits when she didn't get what she wanted, threatening things like rather graphical descriptions of torture.
In fact, she would say frightening things even when she was in a playful mood. She had basically no brain-to-mouth filter that could be seen as shown by her long rant and general lack of self-restraint in the game. Speaking lack of self-restraint, she did whatever she wanted and what she wanted, she wanted now.
She was quite a vengeful person, doing horrible things to Mogekos who did things like publishing her turn-ons.
She could be obsessive, as evidenced by her relentless pursuit of Yonaka. Even after Yonaka escaped, she threw a fit demanding her back.
She could be cunning as shown in when she had her Mogekos herd Yonoka and Defect Mogeko into a trap featuring her and the grotesque monster.
She was quite self-aware of her own senselessness; when she was asked why she was so terrible, she replied that there was no reason and that one's mistaken trying to find reason in Mogeko Castle.
She also stated she hated people who fool themselves after she asked if Yonaka really wanted to go back home.
AU personality:
The most noticeable difference is that Moge-ko's bad traits are considerably toned down in Mina. She still has a kinda unstable personality, but her sadism only extends to petty bullying, not literal torture. Likewise, while she's still subject to throwing fits and getting into the occasional fight, she doesn't go into homicidal rages.
In short, she's just a troubled young woman instead of a murderous cannibalistic psychopath.
She still desires adulation, but she's turned to trying to earn it from other ways than force, mainly by leveraging her cuteness and trying for modeling and roles on television. She also runs a webcam with a fairly small but loyal audience of sycophants.
She's considerably more careful about what she says than Moge-ko was. She tries to put on a bright and sunny disposition--she cares more about her appearance than Moge-ko did. Though that caution tends to drop away when she's upset, which is often.
She believes in pure love and has romantic but still self-centered notions of someone utterly devoted to her who'll do everything for her. Like a classic prince fantasy, but a girl.
She adores her parents and would probably beat up anyone who horribly insulted them. Though of late the relationship's become strained thanks to them pushing her into anger therapy. Still, she's closer to them than anyone else including her friends.
She's currently suffering self-loathing thanks to her horrific memories and the recognition of her similarities to her past life, which she denies to herself. This only drives her to seek more adulation and pleasures to cheer herself up.
Mina's had a quite privileged upbringing and doesn't understand the straits of those less well off. Not to mention she has trouble empathizing in general.
Unlike Moge-ko who had no illusions about her own senseless terribleness but just didn't care, Mina thinks of herself as a good person and self-justifies everything she does. Moge-ko would hate her reincarnation for fooling herself.
Overall, she isn't really a nice person, but she's far better than Moge-ko at least.
Debt: Not taking the Witch seriously, Mina made an off-hand wish for a beautiful, glamorous girlfriend. She's going to be very put out to find herself on the island.
Previous Game Info:
Mina was at Raise the Earth, the followup to Save the Earth, a game about people reincarnated from previous incarnations of canon characters (and some original).
Mina was born to fairly well-off parents. They pretty much spoiled her, and her natural cuteness received her much positive attention, leading to an early career in commercials. She grew up showered with love and attention which she came to expect.
At first her tantrums were took as just childish acting out, but as she grew into a teenage they didn't fade. In fact, after she injured another girl who had called her a dyke and expressed hope she'd burn in hell, she got suspended from school. She was lucky her parents were donators to the school and pulled strings not to have her expelled, because the victim ended up in the hospital with a broken nose and other injuries.
Her reputation took a nosedive. This was upsetting to Mina. She'd managed to get by on her cuteness and was enjoying life as a 'queen' at school, not to mention the occasional appearance in television commercials and modeling for magazines, but those contracts dried up.
People started treating her differently. She lost friends and became a target for bullying herself, though that stopped because people were scared of her rages. Not only that, but she suffered heartbreak when the girl she had a crush on rejected her.
She retreated to the Internet for the attention she craved, running a webcam where she would exhibit her cute outfits, show off her newest stuffed animals, and dance to her favorite songs. That and the few friends she retained sustained her.
The appearance of the Numbered, people who gained memories, powers, appearances, and other aspects of their past lives along with a number that let them access a network exclusive to those with the numbers, was a mere curiosity to her. It had nothing to do with her, so she didn't really care.
And then the alien attacks happened. She and her parents, who were living in California, barely survived, taking refugee in their basement. After the disasters, her family moved to Gateway City to start a new life. Mina blamed the Numbered for the destruction of her home. The Numbered had fought against the aliens, even before the attacks as they combated their influence on the local police and other people. But despite that there was a popular belief that the aliens attacked because of the Numbered, one that Mina bought into. And she blamed them for not doing enough to protect her home.
Mina decided to try to reestablish her reputation in a new school. She had some success until another incident where she scratched up a boy who had called the Numbered heroes resulted in her being sent to counseling and anger management classes. This led to her reputation changing from that cute and fashionable new girl to the psycho who'll beat you up for no reason. She felt betrayed by her parents who finally realized she really needed help and insisted she go.
And then she got her first Echoes which were quite upsetting with the graphic memories of crucifixion and torture. She got a knife but threw it away because of the associated memories. Promptly after she got her ears, she started wearing hats to hide it from her mother as she struggled with the unfamiliar Echoes.
Mina alienated some people with her first angry post to the Numbered network. But after a while of arguing, she began to accept that the Numbered weren't responsible for the alien attacks, largely so she could feel better about herself being a Numbered. And later she did an apology broadcast of her cam show on the Network, which only served to puzzle people though at least of them appreciated the apology.
Life had been quiet for a year after the alien attacks, but then strange occurrences started to happen again. The first was the appearance of slimes that temporarily turned into objects from past lives. Mina regained her keen of scent along with a stuffed Mogeko and the memory of killing and doing taxidermy on the Mogeko. Needless to say, she was upset about yet more memories of doing horrible things to the cute Mogekos--she had not yet remembered their horrific true nature.
Later, there was an incident with dinosaurs appearing in the city which she lived in. She was caught out by a pack of veliocraptors and was saved from a messy demise by a speedster superhero (one of the many Flashes). The whole incident was resolved with Factor Industries, a company on good terms with the Numbered, capturing the remaining dinosaurs and putting them in highly secure pens for the sake of their scientific value. At this time, she grew her tail.
Then came an incident where Numbered not only regained but relived memories, enacting them out as if they were there. In this case, Mina relived siccing the grotesque monster on Yonaka then chasing her. As a consequence of this, she regained the monster itself in cow size. She donated the monster to Factor Industries. She also regained Moge-ko's sharp teeth.
As if this wasn't enough, there was another incident in which things from the Numbered's past lives appeared enmass. In Mina's case, it was a bunch of lost and confused Defect Mogekos (thankfully only nice Defect Mogekos) wandering throughout the city. Mina had a tough time talking to them due to their fear of her, but she managed to find them jobs doing labor at Shepherd's Haven, a settlement founded by the Numbered. All because she was distressed by those cute critters' situation--she wouldn't have cared if they weren't cute. It was at this time that she recalled what horrible beings Mogekos truly was. She also regained her stealth skills and while using the teleporter network remembered ordering the Mogekos to build a two-floor elevator.
There was an invasion of movie monsters in New Los Angeles (rebuild from the wreckage created by the aliens). Mina went there not because of the monsters but because she was pissed off at Thunder Corps and there were reports they might be up to something in the area. What pissed her off was an earlier broadcast by Thunder Corp, a company that had harmed the Numbered and worked secretly with the aliens. The broadcast implied the Numbered were at fault for abandoning Locke City (a city which had mistreated them) and not doing anything about the stone snake infestation there.
It was in New Los Angeles that Mina was assailed by a Black Lagoon creature. She flashed back her terrifying fighting ability and proceeded to laboriously kill the monster then, her bloodlust and anger unsatisfied just by one monster, steal her feather's golf club then go on a monster-killing rampage. This resulted in her being grounded by her parents.
It is shortly after that the game ended.
Mina's most significant CR was with Lazarus (the reincarnation of L from Death Note), Rakka (the reincarnation of Rakka from Haibane Renmei), and Umi (the doppelganger of the reincarnation of Umi from Magic Knight Rayearth). Lazarus perplexed and sometimes frustrated her with his too on-the-nose analysis and penetrating questions, but caused her to think about herself more than she ordinarily would. Rakka served as a timid counterpoint to her own pridefulness and even succumbed to her insistence on giving her a makeover. And she gave fashion advice to and developed a minor crush on Umi.
Overall, Mina came close to realizing her own bad personality but resisted that kind of self-reflection.
Inventory:
1. Cute and fashionable clothes.
2. Phone.
3. Knife.
4. Purse with keys, money, etc.
Abilities:
As near as can be surmised, Moge-ko appeared to have supernatural fighting ability. She was feared by everyone who knows of her, even mogeko, the creator of her entire race. Defect Mogeko, who was capable of killing an entire crowd of Mogekos in an instant, ran rather than fight her. That said, her deadliness didn't extend to her running speed, given that a high school girl could outrun her. Unfortunately, we only have reputation and others' fear of her to establish her dangerousness; it is rarely directly demonstrated other than her slaughter of a bunch of Mogekos during her overthrow of Hasu and instantaneous defeat of Defect Mogeko in the bad ending where Yonaka is caught by her.
She also had her Moge-ko Shield. It was a blue force field that extended in front of her, which was capable of stopping a RPG launcher without any sign of strain. It isn't known how strong it is beyond that.
She shared the keen sense of smell possessed by all Mogekos. There's a reference made in the game to tracking people down by smell alone, to give an idea of how keen it is.
She apparently could be stealthy as she implied she had been observing Yonaka and Defect Mogeko without them being aware of it. Actually, it's not exactly clear how she was aware of them from almost the moment they entered her floor. But she did catch the two by surprise in a bad ending.
Those are the abilities Mina possesses. She doesn't possess Moge-ko's skill at torture or other skills not listed here.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
1. She's decently cute, enough to become a model.
2. She knows a good amount about fashion.
3. She will go to lengths for cute people/creatures.
4. She's terrifyingly good at fighting and smelling stuff.
1. She's prone to losing her temper.
2. She's self-centered.
3. She doesn't care that much about non-cute people or creaturers.
4. She's spoiled and immature.
5. In physical strength and endurance she's just an ordinary teenage girl. Not to mention running speed.
